Saraca Indica or Saraca Asoka, commonly known as Ashoka, is a small evergreen tree native to India. A great religious significance is attached with this tree in India. The reddish-brown bark of the tree shows natural detoxification properties which help in the elimination of the toxins from the body. The bark is rich in tannins, flavonoids, steroids, volatile oil, glycosides, and various steroidal glycosides, which are medicinally significant. Sapindus Trifoliatus is a small deciduous tree that is native to Indo-Gangetic plains. It is one of the oldest cultivated medicinal plants in the world. Rubia Cordifolia commonly known as Manjishta or “Indian madder” is a branched climber with bristles.  It is mainly found in the hilly areas of India. The principal constituents of medical significance are purpurin, munjistin, xanthopurpurin and Pseudopurpurin.
