Ocimum sanctum also known as “Tulsi” or “Holy basil” is considered to be a sacred herb of India. Due to its innumerable medicinal properties, it is considered to be a ‘matchless herb’ in Ayurveda and Siddha system of medicine. The therapeutic properties of this herb had been recognized since 4000 to 5000 B.C. in Rigveda.
