Clerodendron Serratum known as “Bharangi” in Sanskrit is oldest herb used in the Ayurvedic system of medicine. It was named so because it is believed that this plant was discovered by Rishi “Bhrigu” thousands of years back. The root powder of this woody shrub can address a wide rage of respiratory problems ranging from allergic rhinitis to severe inflammatory conditions and thus found its way into famous Ayurvedic medicines like ‘Khadiradi Guttika’ and ‘Praanrakshak Churna’. Flavonoids, phenolics, steroids, and terpenes present in its root powder are responsible for its medicinal properties.
