Kalmegh, scientifically known as Andrographis paniculata, has been used in Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani and Homeopathy, universally to treat a broad variety of diseases. It is commonly found in Central India. Malaysian people call it as ‘Hempedu Bumi‘ which literally means ‘Bile of Earth’ as it is one of the bitterest plants and is used in traditional medicines. Due to its ‘blood purifying’ properties, this plant is used to cure several diseases involving ‘blood abnormalities’.
